Find the matching Pantone colour
Enter a hex code (or several, separated by commas, spaces or new lines), or an RGB or CMYK colour.
Reading the results
RGB and CMYK are turned into a screen colour before matching. CMYK is read as printed on coated paper with the Coated FOGRA39 profile (ISO 12647-2, the usual standard for offset printing, and Adobe's default in Europe), and its printed Lab colour is matched. The hex shown is its screen colour. CMYK made for another press or paper (for example GRACoL or uncoated) can differ.
ΔE is the CIEDE2000 colour difference between your colour and the Pantone colour. Under 1 the eye sees no difference; under 2 only a trained eye sees one side by side; under 3.5 the difference is slight; above 5 it is a different colour.
Pantone colours are defined as printed ink, measured in CIE Lab. The hex code shown for each one is its nearest screen colour (sRGB); colours marked outside screen range are more saturated on paper than any screen colour. Matching is done in Lab, not by comparing hex codes.
